“Happy Mother’s Day” means more
Than have a happy day.
Within those words lie lots of things
We never get to say.
It means I love you first of all,
Then thanks for all you do.
It means you mean a lot to me,
And that I honor you.
.
But most of all, I guess it means
That I am thinking of
Your happiness on this, your day,
With pleasure and with love

About a year and a half ago when we moved into our house, we planted gardenias in the beds we created by the house in the backyard. We knew when the plants matured they would produce beautifully fragrant flowers each spring that last into early summer. .And boy were we right! They are blooming like crazy and smell like heaven. Sitting on our patio is like being in a perfume factory, but soft, sweet and subtle. It’s wonderful.
We really wanted to bring that fragrance in the house, so I created some tussie-mussies to put around the house.
.

What’s a tussie-mussie?
.
Well, traditionally, it was a Victorian bridal bouquet. It’s a smallish, compact bouquet of flowers, some refer to the tussie-mussie as a “nose-gay”. It can be hand-carried, like a bridal bouquet, or put in a vase.
And you can use anything for a vase, the more unique, the better.
.
In the pictures you can see where I used a teacup, a minature teapot, a sugar bowl and a crystal bowl. This was a simple and quick decoration, and in addition to being beautiful, they give a wonderful aroma throughout the house.

Until next time ~ here’s to a beautifully comfortable home.
