Hi, my name is Reba Collins and I live in the Greater Houston Metro Area with my husband Brent. Brent and I have lived here in Houston for twenty-five years and although the summers are long and humid, we feel it’s worth the summer suffering to enjoy the mild winters.

We have two older daughters, one is an elementary school teacher and the other is a sophomore in college. That leaves us with an empty nest and always looking for something to do. We recently down-sized our home to a newly built home that’s a bit more size-appropriate for two people and we love it. However, even though the house is brand new, we still find ourselves spending all our spare time on home improvement projects or shopping for stuff to make our home a more wonderful place to be. And if we’re not doing something to improve our home, then we’re talking about what we want to do next.

Yes, we’re two of a kind when it comes to our home being beautiful, comfortable, inviting and a great place to entertain. That’s why you’ll probably find at least a few posts written by Brent. And actually, when I start doing podcasts, I’m really hoping he will accompany me as my co-host. We’ll have to wait and see on that

Brent and I both work full-time, he manages a large retail liquor store and I’m a legal assistant for an oil services company (doesn’t everyone in Houston work for an oil company?). We only have one day off together each week, so some of our home improvement and decorating projects end up taking a lot of time. But we’re really good about seeing them through to completion, so you may see the projects string out over many, many weeks, but you have my word, you will see them finished.
