Do you love HGTV & Better Home and Gardens magazine? What about Southern Living, House Beautiful and DIY Network? Are you constantly scouring the “Home Decor” department at TG Maxx for the next beautiful addition to your home because you want a bargain price? Do you spend a disproportionate amount of time at Lowes and Home Depot?

Well, I can totally identify as you just described me. I’m a fanatic when it comes to making my home a beautiful, yet comfortable place to be. However, I often find the things recommended by the “professional designers” are just way out of my budget.

If you’re one who uses an interior designer and shops at the wholesale interior design showrooms, this website will probably bore you very quickly. However, if you have imagination, creativity, and love showing your creative side to make your home a wonderful place to be, you’re in the right place.

I plan to use this website as a journal to discuss and share information about home decorating. As the site matures, you’re going to find a lot of information to help you make your home beautiful. You’ll also find insights, editorial, and discusssion about doing things the “conventional” way. You see, sometimes, even often, the “conventional” way of doing things is too expensive, too “stuffy”, and just plain too ugly to suit most of the population. So, we’re going to turn things around and make beautiful homes.

In the weeks and months to come, watch for:

- journaling of my own decorating and home improvement endeavors
- basic interior design information that I will write about as I work through the
Sheffield School of Interior Design course - information about great “finds” and “buys” I make that will save you money
- video projects that are detailed enough for you to “do it yourself” and that will make a major impact on the look of your home
- a gallery where YOU can post the before and after phots of YOUR projects
- a newsletter filled with tons of home decorating tips, tricks and info
- a podcast where you listen in from your computer or download to listen on your MP3 player or I-Pod
- a searchable knowledge base where questions along with their answers are posted to help with everyone’s decorating questions
Basically, whenever I have a thought, insight, or opinion about something that relates to home decorating, it’ll be posted for you to read and respond.
